What is SMS vs MMS?
Short Message Service (SMS) is a bite-sized message delivering updates, notices or links for example. Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) garners increased attention with pictures, videos, audio or gifs. MMS is quickly becoming industry standard as engagement increases with the use of multimedia in your messaging.
Should I use a 10-digit phone number or a dedicated 5-digit shortcode?
We do offer plans for texting with a 10-digit phone number, which can be the right application for some organizations. Our best recommendation is to text from a dedicated 5-digit shortcode as this is the carriers’ preferred method of mass texting to avoid SPAM and compliantly text your audience. Five digits are also more recognizable and become a part of your brand which increases trust from the recipient.
How long can my messages be?
In general, messages can be between 160 and 480 characters. Certain restrictions may apply with the use emojis, multimedia or other special characters.
How many keywords can I have?
We provide unlimited keywords no matter which package you chose. Keywords can be used for group interaction, information or drip sequences.
